Have you joined PTA yet? There is a form attached to the newsletter if you haven’t. Fill one out and drop it off at the school! Thanks to all of you our Fall Fundraiser was a big success! We are using some of the funds to replace the wooden frames on our playgrounds with plastic ones. They were installed by a group of helpful volunteers on October 24. Thanks to all the volunteers! Orders will be in some time before Thanksgiving, we’ll send home notices to let you know the exact date.
We need a volunteer to help organize the annual food drive for Holiday Food Baskets. This isn’t a huge time commitment and there will be volunteers to help with the tasks. However, without a chairperson, this great program won’t happen this year. Please contact Amy at 509/668-0530, or if you feel more comfortable communicating in Spanish, contact Alejandra Chimal at the school.
December 2-9 we will have the Scholastic Book Fair at the Mission View library!

“The Mission View PTA is starting the school year off at a run! The BIG news is that we have NEW Mission View t-shirts this year. They come in green or purple and have the same graphic on them that was on our yearbooks! Order forms are at the bottom of the “Join PTA” flyer…which reminds me, have you joined PTA yet? We have lots of great projects for our school and we could definitely use some help! Next up for volunteer needs will be Picture Day on October 16. You will receive credit for purchasing school pictures for the hours that you work. Please contact PTA at the email or phone number listed below if you can help. You will need to complete a volunteer application to be eligible to volunteer. This has to be done EVERY three years, starting this school year. If you filled out a form and were approved last year, you will still need to fill one out for this year. Pick one up at the office
Our fundraising efforts this year will be going toward some new plastic frames for the playground and new storage options for playground toys. The fundraiser kickoff was September 25, and hopefully your kids have let you know that this year every student that sells at least 25 items will get to take a Limo ride to lunch! We are hoping this will motivate our students to sell, sell, sell!
If you have any questions about PTA please contact us by email at missionviewpta@gmail.com or by phone at 668-0530. If you are more comfortable communicating in Spanish, call Alejandra Chimal at the school.”

Well the Mission View Carnival has come and gone, and we hope that everyone had a great time and enjoyed themselves. The PTA would like to send out a giant THANK YOU to everyone who volunteered. We couldn’t make this carnival happen without LOTS of volunteers!
With the school carnival over, the PTA will be focused on the Apple Blossom Youth Parade! The theme this year is “90 Years of Volunteers”, and our float will be honoring Tom Mathison for all the volunteer work he has done for Mission View School over the years. Look for more information about the parade later this month, and if you’d like to help please contact us at missionviewpta@gmail.com or 668-0530!
We’re busy at work on the yearbook too, so if you have pictures that you’d like to see in the yearbook, please drop off a disc in the PTA box.
